Faced with an erosion of its income, the Dashang Group decided in 2017 to modernize the image of its historic center in Dalian and entrusted New Ground with this work. The complex includes shopping malls, department stores, offices and a hotel, built over the years in disparate styles, all connected by a vast network of pedestrian streets.
Inside one of the department stores, we designed a new retail space for Dashang's own products — high-quality beef from Australia and wines from Dashang's own chateaux in France. It mixes three functions: a butchery with meat on display behind glass and a wall tracing the history of Hunter Beef in Australia; a wood-panelled wine room in front of a media wall showing the chateaux in France; and a small restaurant to try the products.
