Our winning scheme includes a library, a museum, a science and technology museum and the archives building of Liaoning province. All buildings follow a similar language of overhanging white slabs and terrace linking visually all the different buildings functions together around a central civic plaza. The Archive building being located at South-West corner of the Plaza.
The decision to create an immense cultural and administrative Centre was made in the context of the city’s urban extension program. The general principle was the creation of an urban space in a variety of forms within a vast public square, flanked on either side by two ensembles, each consisting of two large buildings. Landmarks on a monumental scale, marking the urban landscape and fulfilling the desire to disseminate culture on a wide scale to the local population.
